Re: Persistent Standing, what they did at Manchester United
It is the truth though.

If everyone sat down for a couple of games, the licencing people would go away and the capacity would be increased.

Then everyone could stand again until the next time the licencing authorities decide to make it a cause celebre.

That's what happened several times at the Boleyn.

Of course, they'd still be the problem with people complaining about not being able to see, but I think the club could approach that much more sympathetically and without the draconian threats.

If it carries on the current way though, then season tickets are going to be revoked, and will continue to do so until everyone is sat down.

Re: Persistent Standing, what they did at Manchester United
I like standing at football matches... I have sat in the past and I sat in the East Stand last night to see what it was like (view I mean, not sitting!) but it is nothing compared with my 'standing' seat in the BML.

If it comes to being forced to sit then I will probably bugger off, I don't suppose anyone will care, least of all the club, but one day the debate will start (I think it already has actually) about why the atmosphere at football matches has died.... can't imagine why?

"And that is what happened. Fans were thrown out, banned from the ground, and then one summer the worst offending area in the old Clock End, was transformed into a brand-new disabled section and family stand."

The Clock End at Old Trafford?

Never heard of it.

Wouldn't mind if there really was banter, but nowadays here and at UP it's limited to Bubbles, Stand up if you love West Ham and Come on you Irons.

Well worth standing up for.....

I remember going bolton a few years ago, it was a like battle between who could get the most fans kicked out, the thing is when teams on the attack, you automatically stand up, then the stewards/police stand in your way so its a no win battle

Stood on the North Bank, South Bank, West Side and Chicken Run when it was standing. Loved it. Now I sit in the 1966 seats. Love it.

This might be the reality of life...but I don't want to believe it, so I'm going to call bollocks on this one.

We're WEST HAM. We stand when we want.
